Hello, My name is a Adia and I was born with a broken heart...
On August 27th, 1985 I had open heart surgery for Tetralogy of Fallot. Often referred to as "Blue babies" disease. My heart has lasted without additional surgery, ZERO implants or medications for 39 years and counting.
Surviving runs in my family. In April of 2019 I gave birth to my son and gave him the best part of me: My broken heart! His TOF condition more sever than mine, he has already had 3 surgeries. The first on at 7 days old and one at 4 months old at Children's Wisconsin. His last surgery was in 2021 at 3 years old. That one in particular, relocated us to California for almost three months and we were taken great care of by the Ronald McDonald House and Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford. Also, in 2021 (almost 36 years to the date of my surgery) my mom would join us as she underwent a heart surgery procedure for a stent
My family of heart hero's is my why!
HAVE A HEART AND COME WALK WITH US!
