As many of you may know, my nephew Tylan Wilburn, was diagnosed with an atrial septal defect (ASD), a congenital heart defect, at just 2 years old. Despite facing three holes in his heart, Tylan underwent open-heart surgery at the age of five, emerging as a shining example of strength and determination. Today, at 17, he lives life to the fullest, embodying the spirit of resilience. You’d never know what he went through as a five year old!
And I, myself, fought a health battle last year. A spontaneous carotid artery dissection lead to a stroke on March 10, 2023, and I underwent life-saving surgery and months of intense therapy. Through sheer perseverance and determination, I have made an incredible recovery, almost returning to pre-stroke normalcy. I am so grateful!
We invite you to join us in raising awareness for congenital heart defects, stroke, and the power of resilience by participating in the heart walk. Whether you're a survivor, a supporter, or simply someone who believes in the strength of the human spirit, your presence and participation are invaluable. Heart disease is still the number one killer and stroke ranks 5th in our nation.
Together, let's march as a testament to hope, resilience, and the miracles that can be achieved when we come together. Join Michelle & Tylan's Miracle March and walk with us or feel free to donate if you can't make it. See you at the Heart Walk!
Thanks!
