I walk because on March 9, 2011, my dad died suddenly from a heart attack, leaving his wife and five children to survive him. That event, in many ways, changed the trajectory of my life. I honor my dad's memory today in many ways in addition to living the values he instilled: I drink Yuengling and eat cheesecake on his birthday, I present his memorial scholarship to a deserving graduating senior, and I participate in the Heart Walk.
We're all connected to heart disease and stroke in some way, whether we have experienced it first-hand ourselves or have been impacted by it through a loved one.
Your donation will fund groundbreaking research that literally keeps hearts beating and helps people have longer, healthier lives.
This year, we celebrate the Centennial of the American Heart Association. Cheers to 100 years and ridding the world of heard disease and stroke!
