I walk for my Grandmothers, Biological and Step Father. My Grams died when I was younger from a heart attack. Although I was young that day will never be erased for my memory. My Fathers were both taken away from me in the last 8 years. Both past due to heart complicatons and both left me broken once I recieved the news. Last year I ran the 5k wearing their names on my back. I plan to do the same this year.
I also walk because I know that with every step, I’m making a difference in someone’s life. And when combined with a million other Heart Walk Heroes across the nation, we have an even greater impact toward curing heart disease and stroke.
