We are walking because we lost Jason Gekiere, principal at Tower Construction, on July 1st of this year at just 50 years old.  He had yearly physicals, EKGs, good cholesterol, managed blood pressure, a normal calcium plaque score, normal oxygen levels and he had cardiac clearance for a hip replacement one year before his passing.  What he never had was a heart utrasound, becuase he had no signs of heart disease.

 

A normal heart weights between 250-350 grams.  When he passed, Jason's heart weighed 820 grams.  It was simply too large to keep beating.  Jason was a great man.  His sudden and enexpected loss has left a hole in the hearts of so many.

 

Jason didn't know what he didn't know.  But, through awareness and research, we hope other can be saved.  Please consider joining the Tower Construction Team and walking with us in honor of Jason.  Donations are not necessary, but will certainly be appreciated.
