WE WALK FOR KENZIE! Join us at Target Field on June 1st to celebrate our heart warrior and walk to raise awareness! Team Kisses For Kenzie was started in honor of our warrior, Kenzie Caitlyn. Kenzie was born on May 22, 2015 with multiple heart conditions, including Complete Heart Block (why she needs her permanent pacemaker), Cardiomyopathy (Heart Failure), and Atrial Septal Defect. She had her first of 4 major heart surgeries when she was only hours old and weighed just over 4lbs, then another 3 weeks later. 3 months into her life, she also developed a severe form of Neonatal Lupus, which caused painful open wounds all over her body. At that time, Kenzie went into heart failure and completely stopped eating. She had a feeding tube from when she was 3 months old to 3.5 years old. Kenzie had another unexpected heart surgery when she was 2 years old, and another one at almost 7 years old. She has spent many many months in the hospital throughout her young life. Unfortunately, Kenzie will have more heart surgeries throughout her life. We cannot thank the entire Children's Hospital Staff for everything they have done to help Kenzie and get her to where she is today.
