I was lucky enough to get a second chance most people don't get in life. I had two holes and a valve that needed to be repaired in my heart when I was 3. I can't speak for my parents or family, the emotions that they were going through. Knowing that their little girl was undergoing open heart surgery. No one knew what the outcome was going to be. The nurses and doctors just looked at them and told them "She's a fighter."
Nothing is promised in life, so enjoy every second as if it was your last, remain kind and compassionate as you never know the personal battles someone is facing. Fill your heart with forgiveness and never end a goodbye with words you wish you had spoken. Always say I love you, always say I'm sorry or I forgive you. Always be kind, and be grateful for the little things in life, because in the end, there is nothing bigger than not taking the risk or having the regrets.
Thank you to the doctors and nurses who saved my life and believed in me. Without them I wouldn't be here today. I'm proud to say that I am a heart surgery survivor. Cheers to having a second chance at life. Cheers to having a healthy heart. Cheers to wearing that scar on my chest that made me the person I am today.
It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.\u200b
I'm walking in honor of myself, celebrating 24 years with a healthy heart, and to help save lives. Help me reach my goal today.\u200b
