I walk because I know that with every step, I'm making a difference in someone's life.
Nine years ago, my life was changed forever by an allergic reaction to antibiotics given to me in the hospital. I went into cardiac arrest, that caused a brain bleed, and resulted in a hemorrhagic stroke. Due to the love of my family and friends, I am here a thriving. The research done by the AHA is vital. I'm here due to their relentless fight to keep hearts beating and I moved the survival rate of hemorrhagic stroke from 6% - 8%. That is a scary fact, but it reminds me that these health issues can come from anywhere. Come take a walk with me and let's celebrate!
When we are combined with a million other Heart Walk Heroes across the nation, we have an even greater impact toward curing heart disease and stroke. Will you be a Heart Walk Hero with me?
Also, please listen to your body, if you don't feel right, see a doctor. Take control of your own health!
