Heart disease is the No. 1 killer in the U.S. and stroke is the No. 5, and the leading cause of disability in the U.S.

My dad had a congenital heart defect which caused a stroke when I was a baby. Without lifesaving research and innovative technological discoveries, my dad may not be here today!

As a pediatric cardiologist, he dedicates his life to ensuring children with heart disease live a long life. I work at the American Heart Association and walk in the hopes that other survivors like him lead happy, healthy lives.

It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
