Shane's Sharks
Hey everyone,
As most of you know, our son Shane was born with a congenital heart defect. His situation has opened our eyes to a great many things that we were unaware of regarding heart health and how truly important it is. We are so lucky and blessed to have been able to receive the type of medical care needed to allow Shane to live a happy and healthy life, and so we want to be able to give back as well.
We call ourselves Shane's Sharks for a very special reason. Sharks don't have the ability to swim backwards; they can only move forward. In addition to that, sharks must constantly swim to move water over their gills or they will die. While this may sound a bit extreme, it's the perfect metaphor for our situation. We refuse to move backwards and will never stop moving forward for Shane. For one so small, he's shown us true strength and resilience in the face of overwhelming odds, that even the most uncertain times can have a positive outcome.
Please join us on Saturday, September 20th and walk with us to help raise funds and awareness for the American Heart Association. Their care and research has played a critical role in Shane's journey, and for so many others like him. If you're unable to join, please consider donating to help the countless other families out there who are going through situations like ours. Thank you so much, and remember to never stop moving forward.
