As nurses, especially in trauma, we don’t just care for patients, we carry their stories. We see the toll heart disease and stroke take on individuals and families, often in the most vulnerable moments of their lives. That’s why The Loyola Heartbeats are walking and fundraising for the American Heart Association.

This isn’t just another event for us. It’s personal. We walk for our patients the ones who’ve survived, the ones still fighting, and the ones we’ll never forget. We walk for the families we’ve stood beside in the hardest moments. And we walk for the people we personally know and love who’ve been affected by heart disease. We walk because we believe in prevention, education, and research that can change outcomes and give people more time with the ones they love. This cause touches all of us, in and out of scrubs

Our goal this year is to raise $2,000, and every step, every dollar, every name on our team page is part of something bigger. Whether you walk with us on September 20th or support from wherever you are, know that you’re helping us honor the work we do and the people we do it for.
