At 22 weeks gestation, Penelope was diagnosed with several rare CHDs and a genetic mutation. Her first open heart was at 1 week old, another following at 4 months old, and her big switch at 2.5 years old and will continue to need to have more until she is an adult. This is the least interesting information to know about her! To know Penny is a gift. She is STRONG. She is intelligent. She is the first person to share when someone needs a toy or something to color with. She gives the best hugs. Her belly laugh will bring tears to your eyes because it is so wholesome. None of who she is would have been possible without interventions and all of the research that goes into cardiology and heart studies. We majorly appreciate any donations made to the American Heart Association because it goes into research on how to make interventions easier on patients, giving parents and families resources on education and emotional support, and so much more.
