My Why....
My Husband Johnny suffered a Cardiac Arrest at work when he was only 40 years old! Thankfully he survived due to the quick response from Physicians I fortunately work with like Dr. Mini Das and who were formerly at our Hospital, Dr. Thomas Tu. What an incredibly talented and wonderful Team we have at Baptist Health Louisville Cardiology!
Johnny then had to have an urgent open heart surgery which included a 6 way bypass at age 45, with the esteemed Dr. Sam Pollock, who saved Johnny's life again!
My husband Johnny now has recovered incredibly well and gets to take care of our grandson- Little John every single day!
My daughter Samantha also suffered a Pulmonary Embolism which passed through her heart at 20 years old, while studying during her college finals -she passed out!
Again such a Huge Blessing that the wonderful Staff and Physicians at Baptist Health Louisville ED who saved her life!
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this.
Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death.
It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today.
