This is our 15th year participating in the American Heart Association Heart Walk, it started out as a way to support our friends and family and to promote physical activity to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke. As many of you know, in 2014 it hit WAY TOO CLOSE to home for us when Josie (age 2.5 years) was diagnosed with a Congenital Heart Defect called Intermittent Complete Heart Block. This resulted in Josie having a pacemaker placed on March 19, 2014, a broken pacemaker wire replaced December 29, 2019, pacemaker replacement and an extension added to wire on October 11, 2023, and most recently April 21, 2026 she had her 4th heart surgery to remove her abdominal pacemaker and replaced it with a wireless one that is clipped inside of her heart. In 2021, both Julie and Gary K joined Josie's pacemaker club.
This year, we will walk in honor of our Heart Warrior, Miss Josie, and continue walking for our family, friends, and Heart Warriors/Angels that may or may not be able to participate. Please support our fundraising effort for this great cause!
Thank you!
