In Memory of Rick Dmytrusz....
My commitment to why I do this is to honor very influential individuals in my life - and today one more.
My Dad who had the insight to show a daughter to be confident, self-sufficient, and giving.
My dear friend Sharon. A dear friend whose life was ended too soon and so very unexpectedly.
And now - my dear friend Rick Dmytrusz. Also too soon. He suddenly and very unexpectedly passed 4 May 2026. We received the heart wrenching news and are still trying to understand why.
Rick dedicated 28 years at HF Wyandotte Hospital with the IT team. His expertise, kindness, and unwavering friendship left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working alongside him. He was more than a techinician. He was a caring human being - always with a smile and greeting to anyone he met in the halls. He had a very sharp, droll wit - which no one was spared. Not even his leadership. He relished the look on people's faces when they suddenly realized he got them again - and it was always followed with a smile and that laugh knowing that he got them again.
The outpouring of love and sympathy from all at HF Wyandotte and HFH IT community is overwhelming. We lost a treasured member of our family. The common comment - very nice man, always with a smile, always said hello. He will be missed - not just for his expertise but his presence.
His love for movies was so great - we checked with him on which ones to see and which ones to not even bother and which ones to simply stream on the TV. And he was never wrong.
But his greatest love was his family - Timi, Shelby, Cody, Logan, Ollie, Laramie, and Callum. He looked forward to seeing them. Especially Ollie - as he called him "my little man". His face lit up each time he talked about them. The love and devotion was so clear on his face and in his voice.
We are better individuals for having known Rick - there is a void in our lives that cannot be filled by anyone else. We should all be blessed to have someone like Rick touch our lives the way he did.
