We never think a cardiac emergency will happen at work—until it does.
Seven years ago, an Eaton team member suffered a sudden cardiac incident in our office. It was unexpected, frightening, and very real.

Because we had an AED nearby and team members trained in CPR and AED response, help came immediately. That preparation saved her life. Today, she is still with us because people in that moment had the knowledge, confidence, and tools to act.
That experience reshaped how I think about heart health and preparedness. Cardiac emergencies don’t wait for hospitals- they happen where we live, work, and gather.
I’m involved with the American Heart Association because their mission turns ordinary people into lifesavers. Whether we’re in an office, a stadium, a school, or a neighborhood, being prepared puts every one of us in a position to save a life. I’ve seen firsthand that readiness isn’t theoretical- it’s the difference between loss and another chance at life.
Life is why this work matters- and why I’m committed to advancing it in Detroit and beyond.

9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this.
Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death.
It's time to unite, take action, and save lives. Every dollar donated, means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone. Together, we can turn bystanders into lifesavers.
I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today.
