White Light Electric – Walk to Save Lives
At White Light Electric, safety is not a slogan. It’s a responsibility.
We partnered with the American Heart Association because we believe protecting our industry goes beyond jobsite protocols. Health is more than a motto. It is ingrained in our culture and in our leadership.
Last year, after attending the annual AHA event, I was inspired by the message around prevention and awareness. I had not been feeling like myself for months, but like many leaders in construction, I put my team and responsibilities first and made small excuses.
Shortly after, I learned how serious that decision could have been. I required an emergency blood transfusion and was on the brink of organ failure. That moment changed my perspective.
Too often in the trades, we work hard, take care of everyone else, and neglect our own health. We push through. We delay appointments. We assume we are fine.
We are walking for people like us. Hardworking men and women who carry responsibility, who show up every day, and who sometimes forget to show up for themselves.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside of a hospital do not survive. In many cases, bystander CPR was not performed.
That can change.
Cardiac arrest happens at work, at home, and in our communities. Training, awareness, and preparation make the difference.
Every dollar raised supports lifesaving CPR training, research, and prevention.
Join our team. Walk with us. Donate if you can.
Let’s build a stronger, healthier construction community together.
