This hits home so hard for me. My dad died of CHF at the age of 51 and my grandpa had a heart attack ( on my mom’s side) heart issues run heavy in my family. When I decided to go back to school I took a couple cardiac classes to learn more about our hearts and some preventatives, I do not want to go down that road. I am CPR certified and I am certified in central monitoring.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this.

 

Cardiac arrests happen at work, in homes, on athletic fields and in neighborhoods everywhere, and the readiness of our community can be the difference between life and death.
