Hi Friends Family, and Community Members,

It is with great honor and heartfelt gratitude that I invite you to join us for Rock the Walk 2025, presented by The Allegiance Group in partnership with the American Heart Association on Saturday, September 27th, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Palmer Park in Detroit, Michigan. The Rock the Walk 5K (3mile) is an annual walk held in loving memory of my late husband DeJaughn “Billy” Murphy — a passionate leader, visionary, and champion for community and faith. 

In January of this year, DeJaughn and I sat down to map out our dreams and goals. Among them was his desire to host a walk in honor of his late twin brother, DeVaughn. Ironically—and perhaps prophetically—the “V” in the name looked like a “J,” as if DeJaughn’s own name was already woven into this vision. Wild, right? 

With a heart full of love and deep conviction, I am committed to carrying forward what DeJaughn started - through his music, merchandise and mission to inspire others as he did. This walk is more  than a tribute; it is a promise to keep his light shinning and to honor the values he lived by. We would be deeply honored by your presence at Rock the Walk 2025 as we come together to celebrate DeJaughn's life, carry his vision forward, and create a movement that touches the hearts and lives for generations to come.
