I walk because my son is a heart warrior and a survivor! Born with d-TGA and a VSD, Charlie had to undergo open heart surgery at just 4.5 weeks old. He spent the first 6 weeks of his life in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Hospital in MN. His CHD was diagnosed in utero at the 20 week appt and we were immediately referred to the Children’s Hospital in Mn where we were in the best hands for his care. Charlie will forever be a cardiac patient but he is a strong little boy that has taught our entire family what true strength and resiliency mean. We walk for Charlie and all those heart survivors.
