Like so many people I meet, I have loved ones who have been affected by heart disease and stroke.
My husband had a stroke at 47. We eventually learned that it was caused by a hole in his heart which they were able to repair - and we know that because of the work of the American Heart Association this condition is now screened for and corrected if needed in infancy. Grateful for the research funding that continues to save lives and prevent this from happening to all generations to follow.
My mom, a career RN, had a virus attack her heart the year she turned 50. While this has affected her in a variety of ways, she had options to fight and there are preventative care options in place so that she remains a big part of all of our lives still at 70. Once again we were so lucky to benefit from all of the advancement American Heart Association has funded over the years.
Yet we know we have so far to go. There is still much to learn, technology yet to be discovered and more lives to save. Please donate to our walk campaign so we can bring hope and success stories to more of the people in our lives.
I Walk to Save Lives. Help me reach my goal today.
