On Christmas Eve 2019 my life and my families lives changed forever. I suffered a stroke mid morning in front of my young children. I didn't understand what was happening to me and couldn't communicate to my kids either. It was so strange. After much hesitation, my youngest decided to call 911, she saved my life. After transportation to the local hospital and multiple test, it was determined I was indeed having a stroke. While in surgery to clear the blood clot I suffered another stroke, when the clot closed up again. This news was devastating to my family. Unknown to me I suffer from Fibromuscular dysplasia (FMD) which is a vascular disease characterized by abnormal cell growth in arterial walls. It causes arteries to narrow, weaken, or develop a "beaded" appearance. Both of my carotid arteries show a beaded appearance. I now have three stents surgically placed in my brain which run down past my left ear. At any time another stroke may occur. I suffer daily with limited mobility issues on my right side, difficulty finding words, and whooshing sounds in my ears.
