For years, I celebrated my birthdays with big endurance runs to raise money for causes I cared deeply about. They were meaningful, powerful, and honestly some of my favorite birthdays.
But over time, I realized I wasn’t always caring for my own heart in the process. Most of my training lived in high intensity zones, and I rarely balanced it with strength, recovery, or long term cardiovascular health. That realization shifted something for me.
These days, I’m more focused on longevity. Sustainable movement. Listening to my body. Taking care of my heart so I can live a longer, healthier life.
So this year, instead of a birthday run, I’m planning a birthday walk. Something meaningful, still challenging, but aligned with where I am now.
I’m raising money for the American Heart Association and their mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives.
If you’d like to support, I’d be incredibly grateful.
