September 4, 2018 is a day I will never forget- it's the day that I became a stroke survivor. I suffered a Carotid Artery Dissection which caused a blood clot to travel to my brain. I was taken by helicopter to UC Hospital and had an emergency embolectomy. Unfortunately, I had a second blood clot form just a few hours later, and the second attempt at an embolectomy was unsuccessful. Thankfully, the medication I was given was able to dissolve the blood clot and my outcome has been a great one!
