2026 Cincinnati Heart Mini-Marathon & Walk: Susan Hartung

Once again we are participating in the AHA's Heart Mini! We do it in honor of our 23-year-old daughter, Ella. She was born with Tetralogy of Fallot, a life threatening heart defect. She had open heart surgery at 3 months old, but will need another surgery very soon to replace her pulmonary valve which had to be completely removed.

Last year Ella’s Entourage joined forces with my niece’s team, Levi & Lane’s Legions. Since we were all fighting for the same cause we thought it was silly to compete within the family. That does not mean that the cause means any less to me! Since Bruce suffered a heart attack in August, it means more than ever.

Levi and Lane are 3 and 1/2-year-old twins, both of whom were born with heart defects. Levi has made it through three heart surgeries like a champ! Fortunately, Lane has not yet required surgery. Also, the boys lost their Grandpa Dan to a heart attack last April.
