I walk because I know that with every step, I am saving lives. 

Beckham is now 3 1/2 years old! 
he was born with multiple heart conditions such as coarctation of his aorta which was also hypoplastic and a very large and complex VSD. He had open heart surgery at 1 week old and been rocking his scar since! He does have to continue with cardiology for the rest of his life as he has developed subvavular aortic stenosis (build up of muscle/tissue that blocks the valve that lets blood out of the heart and into the aorta). After monitoring this from the time of him being 18 months old to 3 years old it unfortunately grew to be severe and so he just had his second open heart surgery to remove that growth of scar tissue in December. This little boy is the strongest kid I know! We are now home and gearing up for the Heart Mini 5K walk and hope you will join us!
