My son was born with a congenital heart defect. He had three open surgeries in his first 39 months. Inspired by his recovery, my family started Austin’s Army in 2001. We participated as Austin's Army for over 10 years. I continue to support AHA annually through my employer. This year, Austin is restarting Austin's Army for both himself (celebrating 30th birthday in November), the 25th anniversary of starting Austin's Army, and in honor of his grandfather (my father), who passed away from heart failure in May of 2024.
I’m very grateful and blessed for my son’s health, but it wouldn’t be possible without the research of the American Heart Association. Every year, my Dad raised over $1,000. He was very proud to be a part of the Thousandaire Club, so this year, that is my goal too. Any donation is deeply appreciated.
