I support the AHA because there has been loss in my life. It started just weeks before I was born when my paternal grandfather ltierally passed away standing in the kitchen from a massive coranary event. Others passed away over the years. This lead me to start learning CPR when I was a young Boy Scout, something I have continued over the decades since.
I was called to use all that training in February 2017 when a co-worker, Dan, from a different floor collapsed in the lobby of Kroger Plaza One. Working with my friend Nick Bond, we were able to get Dan breathing and then transferred to the EMTs when they arrived. We were both deeply moved by the event. It is something we trained for, but you never really anticipate having to use it.
Supporting CPR training, research into heart disease treatment, preventoin and rehabilation is something close to my soul.
Please join me and my friends in this fine endeavor. Contribute funds, time, or walk/run with us in the Hear Mini.
