In 2022, my father passed away from sudden cardiac arrest. Shortly after, I began my career at AtriCure, where I first learned about atrial fibrillation and just how critical awareness, prevention, and education are when it comes to heart health.
In 2024, that connection became even more personal when my mom was diagnosed with AFib. Both my professional and personal experiences have strengthened my commitment to advocacy and prevention.
Today, 9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside of a hospital don't survive-often because bystander CPR isn't performed. The American Heart Association is working to change that reality. Every dollar donated means more people trained in lifesaving CPR, advances in critical research, and more second chances at life.
