Heart disease has affected my family a lot, and that's why I want to help.
My grandma had a stent put in her heart right around when I was born, and she recently had two mini-strokes called TIAs. My grandpa died from a heart attack. And my cousin passed away when he was only a few days old because of a heart problem he was born with.
My mom works at The Christ Hospital, Cincinnati's Heart Hospital, where doctors do amazing procedures like heart transplants to save people's lives.
When I run the Cincinnati Heart Mini Marathon, I'm running for my grandma, my grandpa, my cousin, and everyone who has heart disease. The American Heart Association helps fund research and teaches people how to save lives in emergencies.
Every donation helps us get closer to a world where families don't have to lose people they love to heart disease.
