I have participated in the Heart Walk for the last 11 years. This past June my oldest son Dylan had open heart surgery at Christ Hospital. At 30 years old and seemingly healthy, we were shocked to hear that he had a condition that would require open heart surgery. When you or a loved one personally experiences something like this, the fundraising efforts of the AHA really hit home differently. I am happy to say that my son is doing extremely well and he is just one of the MANY folks that have and will benefit from the research and technology that walks like this one support!
