Nancy Karen Orloff, my mother-in-law, was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother of four, and grandmother of two when she had a debilitating stroke at the young age of 56. Unfortunately the stroke took a vibrant woman from us and left a woman who struggled to communicate, walk, and perform daily tasks. However, Nancy was a fighter! Although she was confined to a wheelchair for the remainder of her life, she walked down the aisle with great determination and a cane at her daughter’s wedding. It was a touching moment that brought tears to everyone’s eyes and a standing ovation for Nancy. The last time we saw her we were celebrating her 60th birthday. Nancy passed away from complications of the stroke. She died way too young! We’ve missed her every day for the past 27 years. I’m hoping to raise funds so that others have access to important information to prevent strokes and heart disease and live long, healthy lives.
• Every 34 seconds, someone has a heart attack. • Every 40 seconds, someone has a stroke.
• One in three Americans has some form of cardiovascular disease.
Let’s do something about it now!!!
