This is personal to me.
Heart disease can make a life shortened in a moment's time. Thankfully, there are things we can do to help prevent a heart disease from causing an unfortunate outcome.
When I was in pharmacy school, my dad had a heart attack at age 49. It was terrifying, but thankfully he had a positive outcome.
He recognized the signs and symptoms of a heart attack and took them seriously. When he arrived to the hospital and had an arrythmia that often times has poor outcomes, my family was thankful that he was in the hospital at that time. He received the care that he needed in that moment. Today, over a decade later, he is with us because he knew the signs and symptoms he was experience required him to go to the hospital right then!!! My girls have a Papa in their life that they adore and admire, because of the care that he received.
In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don’t survive. Most of the time, it’s because no one nearby performed CPR. But together, we can change that.
Extraordinary things happen when people take action. A small step. A simple skill. A lifesaving moment. Heart Walk brings communities together to create health and hope for every heartbeat. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
Extraordinary starts with YOU. Help me reach my goal today!
