At just 33 years old, I never imagined I would be fighting for my life or learning to live with heart failure, an ICD, and the lasting effects of cardiac arrest. My journey has included countless appointments, tests, procedures, uncertainty, and challenges, but it has also shown me the incredible power of family, community, and modern medicine.

I am walking because I am one of the lucky ones. Not everyone gets a second chance. I walk for the survivors, for those we have lost, for the families who have stood beside loved ones through heart disease, and for the medical professionals and researchers who work every day to improve outcomes and save lives.

I am raising money because heart disease and cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, regardless of age or health history. The funds raised through the Heart Walk support critical research, CPR education, public access to AEDs, and programs that help save lives every single day.
