In a heartbeat, you could be the difference.
9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital don't survive. Most of the time, it's because no one nearby performed CPR. But together, we can change that.
Extraordinary things happen when people take action. A small step. A simple skill. A lifesaving moment. Heart Walk brings communities together to create health and hope for every heartbeat. Every walker who joins, every dollar donated, means more people trained in CPR, more research and more lifesaving moments for everyone.
Extraordinary starts with YOU. Help me reach my goal today!
I walk every year in honor of my husband Shane Vanderloo. I have to say Shane had the hardest 30+ years of heart disease. 99% of the time he had the most up beat positive attitude! He was always smiling, and joking with whomever was around him, whether it was at an office visit, procedure, hospital, home or out and about! He finally got to receive the gift of a new heart in February 2025. Unfortunately his old heart went into cardiac arrest before he was transferred to the operating table. The Dr's and nurses had to move fast to get him on bypass and open him up. March 1,2025 at 12:35am he lost his battle of heart disease even after getting a new heart. His kidneys and liver shut down on him. He definitely should be here with us today living a new life of no heart disease. Shane fought so hard. He had a new look on his life, a new grandson coming and many more firsts. We miss Shane everyday and all day long! I love you honey!!
