Four days after our son was born, I should have been memorizing his tiny features and watching my husband fall in love with fatherhood.
Instead, I was lying in a hospital bed as a team of medical professionals worked to get my preeclampsia under control.
I was exhausted, foggy, and unable to fully be present with Joel or Benjamin. Those first moments I dreamed of were replaced with fear.
This year, I'm joining the 2026 Indianapolis Heart Walk because the danger from preeclampsia doesn't end at discharge. It leaves women with lifelong cardiovascular risks - risks I now carry.
I'm raising funds for the American Heart Association so future moms have answers, treatments, and hope.
If you're able, please consider donating or joining my Heart Walk Team. Your support truly matters.
