My dad is my why.
Cardiovascular disease runs deep on my father's side of the family. My dad lost his own father to heart disease at a young age, and thanks to advances in research and treatment, I was blessed to have my dad for 21 years, 12 years longer than he had with his father.
Throughout his life, my dad faced significant heart challenges, including open-heart surgery and the implantation of a pacemaker. Our family has also felt the devastating impact of stroke, losing both his sister and brother to the disease.
Heart disease and stroke are more than statistics to me. They are part of my family's story. That's why I support the Heart Walk. Every dollar raised helps fund lifesaving research, better treatments, and hope for families facing these challenges. I walk to honor my dad, remember those we've lost, and help create a future where more families have the chance to make lasting memories with the people they love.
