In March of 2025 my son was born with a Shone's variant. It was quickly determined that he would need to go down the single ventricle pathway with the Norwood, Glenn, and Fontan. The morning of his Glenn, the pressures in his heart were too high to continue, so an atrial sepctectomy and tricuspid repair were performed in the hopes that this would relieve some of the pressures in his heart. Unfortunately, traditional fixes have never been Wesley's thing, and he is now waiting inpatient for a heart transplant. The journey to be listed was difficult, but he worked very hard for a very long time.
Wesley would not be alive if it were not for the American Heart Association. Because of their tremendous advances, Wesley can focus on therapy and staring at his Christmas lights (year round). Jon and I can give him normalcy and good days instead of contstantly worrying about his future.
