I lost my grandfather at just 62, and heart disease has touched so many people in my family, my heritage, and my community. It’s not just personal, it is widespread. Heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the United States, taking more lives each year than all forms of cancer combined. That reality is heavy, and it is my 'why'.

I walk for awareness, hope, and empowerment. As a Heart and Vascular ICU nurse manager, I see every day how much support our patients and our community truly need.
