2026 Kansas City Heart & Stroke Walk
Katie's Kennel
At Katie's Kennel, caring for others has always been at the heart of what we do, and this year, that care extends beyond our four-legged clients.
Our team is proudly participating in the Kansas City Heart Walk in honor of our District Manager, Claire, who was born with pulmonary atresia, a congenital heart defect diagnosed at birth. Throughout her life, Claire has undergone three open-heart surgeries and continues to live each day with congenital heart disease.
Because congenital heart disease is often an invisible condition, many people don't realize the lifelong challenges that come with it. Not every battle can be seen from the outside, and that's exactly why raising awareness is so important. Claire's journey is a powerful reminder that heart disease affects people of all ages; including those who have lived with it since the very beginning of life and continue to face it each and every day.
We're walking to support lifesaving research, celebrate medical advancements that give hope to families, and help ensure that children born with congenital heart defects have even brighter futures. We're also walking to remind those living with heart disease that they are not alone. Whether you're a parent navigating a new diagnosis, someone living with congenital heart disease yourself, or a loved one supporting someone through their journey, we hope our participation serves as a reminder that there is an entire community walking beside you.
For Claire, this isn't just another walk; t's a celebration of every step she's been given, every milestone she's fought for, and the hope that future generations born with congenital heart disease will have even more opportunities because of the research, education, and support made possible through events like the Heart Walk.
Every donation, no matter the amount, helps fund lifesaving research, education, advocacy, and programs that make a meaningful difference in the lives of millions affected by heart disease and stroke.
If you're able, we would be incredibly grateful for your support. Whether you choose to donate, join Team Katie's Kennel on Walk Day, or simply help spread awareness, you're making an impact.
Thank you for helping Katie's Kennel walk with purpose. Together, we can create hope, inspire awareness, and help build healthier futures; one step at a time.
