2026 Grand Rapids Heart Walk
Nash Beckett's Bradford Crew
When our team captain, Ben Crane, and his wife welcomed their son Nash in November 2023, everything seemed perfect. But at just eight days old, Nash became critically ill and was rushed to the hospital, where doctors discovered a severe congenital heart defect known as Shone’s-Like Complex, a form of Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome.
Over the next two and a half years, Nash endured three open-heart surgeries and countless days in the care of expert medical teams. Through it all, his family faced uncertainty, fear, and challenges no parent ever expects.
Today, Nash is thriving at home with his family. His scars tell the story of his fight, but his energy, spirit, and determination remind everyone how far he has come. Organizations like the American Heart Association provide critical support, education, research, and hope for families navigating congenital heart disease. By supporting the Heart Walk, you help make stories like Nash’s possible and give other children the chance to grow, thrive, and create futures filled with possibility.
