As you may know, I have been an ardent supporter of the American Heart Association in general, and the Heart Mini and Heart Walk in particular, for many years. And this year is no different.
Actually, it is. In November 2017, my younger brother was diagnosed with heart disease, and underwent quintuple bypass surgery. Fortunately, he is well on the road to recovery. In fact, he'll be running the 5K with me this year!
But his experience reemphasized to me the importance of the American Heart Association, and fund raising events like the Heart Mini and Heart Walk.
The fact is, each of us knows someone who has been impacted by heart disease or stroke.
I've handed over the captain's chair to Jeremy Hurm this year, but I'm not giving up participating in the 2019 Heart Mini and Heart Walk as part of of the Cincinnati Bell Hearts on FIRE team. Our goal, as always, is to promote healthier, more active lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
This event helps raise critical funds for the American Heart Association, to help provide public education about America’s number 1 killer: heart disease!
Thank you in advance for your support!
