I began participating in the American Heart Association Heart Walk several years ago with my wife, Elissa, in memory of her son and my father Jack. As years went by, Elissa had a heart issue and was corrected with surgery. This gave me even more incentive to walk.
This year the Heart Walk has even more meaning to me on a personal level. I was recently told I have Dilated Cardiomyopathy, which means my left ventricle (main Heart chamber is stretched and thinned). After talking with my cardiologist, I have more testing scheduled soon. The plus side to this is I have been dieting and have lost over 60 pounds! And plan on several more!!
More recently, I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure in July of 2023 after returning from a wonderful vacation with my wife and our oldest granddaughters.
All donations, no matter how big or small are greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
