re are endless reasons why I chair and walk....However, this is personal to me and my husband Kurtis. My sister in love Karen Downing Campbell was initially diagnosed in 2008 with blockages in her heart and had to have a double bybass surgery after having a stroke. Things got complicated because she also had renal failure. Going to dialysis three days a week puts a great deal of stress on your heart. She began dialysis and stayed on it for 14 long years which was extremely hard on her heart. The progression of kidney disease paired with heart dTheisease made it difficult for her to have a full recovery. Without a kidney transplant her heart suffered from the dialysis for many years. Unfortualtely, we lost our dear sister March 9, 2020. We are fighting every step of the way to end this disease! She had so much life still to live, she had 3 amzing children and several grandkids she left behind.
I walk because I know that with every step, I am saving lives.
We're all tied to heart disease and stroke in some way. We have to change that. Will you please help me?
