2019 Southwest Missouri Heart Walk
April 6, 2019
Life is why we walk.
Thanks to all our walkers, donors and volunteers who have accepted the challenge to help fight heart disease and stroke. We cannot achieve our mission without each one of you!
Meet Rocky & Lyla
This father-daughter duo are both heart transplant survivors. Rocky received his new heart at age 13 after a diagnosis of dilated cardiomyopathy. Lyla was diagnosed with the same condition at six months old and received a transplant at almost ten months. Today, the Valentine family celebrates two full recoveries! Rocky is now school superintendent at Sparta R-3 and Lyla is an active 7-year old girl who loves swimming and playing with her sister. Join us on Saturday, April 6 to meet this dynamic family and help raise funds for research and education in support of all Missourians and to help other families just like the Valentines! Read their whole story here.
By participating in the Heart Walk, you’re joining a million Heart Walk Heroes from across the nation raising funds for lifesaving science. Science that can teach us all how to live longer and be Healthy For Good.
Take a few minutes to consider the lives you are going to help change for the better through your leadership and donations. We’re talking more moms, dads, brothers, aunts and babies' lives saved. Help keep hearts everywhere beating. Let’s take steps together to cure heart disease and stroke.
