I am a heart disease survivor.

41 years ago I was born with a congenital heart defect. 12 years ago I went into heart failure after the birth of my son. It was through lifesaving research that I am here today. Organizations like the American Heart Association give people like me a chance at a full and healthy life through their support of research, education, and advocacy of heart disease and stroke. 

I walk in honor of all who have been part of my heart journey, and in memory of all those who are no longer here.
