Why do I walk and Go Red??
Seventeen years ago, I survived a widow-maker heart attack. I have quite a story!!!
I had three procedures in 7 weeks to save my life. After my fourth stent, my sister dubbed me Stent Woman™ and so I am ...Stent Woman™ ...and Every Day Grateful!
Understandably, as a Survivor, this Walk is personal to me!!
I have witnessed the highs and lows of this disease experiencing the loss of family from heart related events but also, family who realized positive lifesaving outcomes because of advancements derived from the AHA!!!
Walking and participating in this event, for me, is a way to give back by raising funds and creating awareness for Women’s Heart Health and heart related diseases. The money raised at walk events like this allows the AHA to be able to finance research and development as well as to help individuals experiencing the need for support. Technology and education save lives!!!
So, for the 16th year, I will be walking again, this year on Friday, September 22, 2023. Will you help me raise funds?? Every dollar raised makes a difference, and ANY donation amount helps!! Please help me get the word out and share the link to my page!
Most importantly I want to say thank you for your past and present support!! ...from the bottom of my damaged heart I AM GRATEFUL and THANK YOU!!!
Fact: Did you know? 1 in 3 Women will die from a Cardiovascular related diagnosis.
That is more than EVERY cancer COMBINED!!!!
