Heart of Champions,
Heart disease has greatly impacted the Rinehart familly. In 2002, I lost an older borther to a heart attack at the young age of 50. My farther passed in 2006 at age 79 to a heart attack after 2 very successful open heart surgeries earlier in his life. (I'm thankful for the research advancements that provided this.) My mother (89) passed away in 2014 due to heart complications.
My cadiologist is optimistic (with all the AHA research efforts and developments) that they can prevent future surgeries for many of us. He has helped my focus on weight (BMI), blood pressure and chlosterel in order to have better heart health, exactly what "Essential 8" from AHA promotes.
In 2023, I have another huge pasison for this cause. My wife (Chris) and I have a good friend Elaine who is on the waiting list for a heart and lung transplant. We are thankful for all the research, experience and procedures that can make this possible and pray for a successful outcome!
