I am alive today thanks to the innovations developed through fundraisers like this. As some of you know, I had open-heart aortic valve replacement surgery on Dec. 21, 2016. I am forever grateful to the staff at Sanford Medical in Bismarck, ND and I’ve made it my goal to give back in any way I can.
Every other year, I participate in the Bismarck-Mandan Heart Walk to raise money for the American Heart Association. This year, the walk takes place the day after my birthday August 13, 2022 at the capitol grounds in Bismarck, ND.
I’m asking my friends and family to be a part of my team by donating whatever you can and/or participating in the walk. If you live in the area, please join me, Brian, Earl (the Rat Terrier) and friends for a walk around the capitol grounds. Contact me for details.
Don’t live close to me? You can still join us. Walk/hike/jog wherever you live, take some photos and I’ll post them on my Facebook page. If you want to use your walk to also raise money, contact me and I’ll send you the info.
I'm excited to be raising critical funds for the American Heart Association that will ultimately save and improve lives locally and around the globe. Many of these funds will be used to:
- Ensuring that cardiovascular patients treated in our hospitals receive the highest standard of care based on the latest research.
- Fighting for issues that will improve health, such as keeping our children safe by ensuring they don’t become addicted to nicotine through tobacco or e-cigarettes and making our communities and streets safer to exercise and play. Teaching children lifelong lessons about the importance of living a healthy, active life.
- Train our community members in the lifesaving skill of CPR.
- Making sure that everyone, everywhere has access to resources and opportunities that lead to a long and healthy life.
Thanks for your donation!
