Dear Family and Friends,
I think most of you do know my story. I was born with a heart murmur that later developed into a congenital heart defect: atrial-ventricular septal defect. I had open-heart surgery which was followed later by complete mitral valve heart block. I benefit from medical technology to keep ticking, a biventricular pacemaker. I soldier on because of research and great medical care. I am able to live a full life - that means running, cycling, and raising two kids. I give back to organizations that have supported me throughout my life.
I have been running, slogging, and walking half and full marathons since 2010. The Heart Mini is a can't-miss event, and I am excited to hit the road with all the other survivors and supporters in March!
